JavaScript Job: Senior Front End Engineer

Shore is an international Munich-based tech startup with offices in Berlin and Los Angeles and a young, motivated team. Our goal: to simplify the day-to-day work of small and medium-sized service businesses and help them take advantage of the opportunities the digital world provides. Our all-in-one software for customer management, online appointment booking, digital marketing, and point of sale helps service providers and retailers save time, get online bookings, and manage their business more efficiently.

Your Tasks

• Provide feedback for design
• Develop & release new features
• Work on bug fixes and code refactoring
• Review code and share knowledge
• Improve our test strategy, provide more automated tests
• Be attentive to user error reports from 3rd party services

Who we’re looking for:

• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, especially React and TypeScript.
• Passion to test (automated and manually), knowledge of modern testing tools (Jest, Cypress)
• You have a deep understanding of Javascript and familiar with its libraries and interested in chasing the community updates.
• You have experience in developing customer-facing products with at least one modern frontend development stack
• You are careful, reliable and pragmatic, always eager to find the best solution for our customers while minimizing technical debt.
• You are self-driven and can quickly pick up new technologies.
• You like to collaborate with your co-workers and are interested in sharing your knowledge without developing a huge ego.
• You feel comfortable working with UNIX environments and know your way around the command line.
• You know the values of agile software development and understand basic principles and practices like test-driven development, code reviews, and continuous delivery.
• You have experience integrating with REST APIs.

Tech Skills:

• Advanced skills working with Typescript/CSS/HTML.
• Advanced skills working with ReactJs and Redux.
• Basic skills working with Docker.
• Basic knowledge of UX and Design is a plus.
• Basic skills in building backend REST APIs is a plus.
• Basic skills working with one or more of the cloud providers (i.e. AWS, Google Cloud, Heroku, ..). is a plus.
• Able to work on the full stack including both frontend and backend is a plus.
